Male Executive Member

He is a product of SMS-KNUST. He was an Organizer of Komfo Anokye Doctors Association. He moved to Regional Hospital Koforidua, Eastern Region where he is currently working.

He has been the Eastern Divisional Chairman for six (6) years (2008 - 2014). He has also been the executive male member for the past 4 years. He has served on the National Executive Council for ten years with dedication and commitment.

He has served diligently on many committees including the GMA-NHIS Committee, Finance Committee and Negotiation Committee. 

 

Treasurer

A young Public Health practitioner with interest in Epidemiology, Reproductive Health and Health Economics. She has rich experience spanning both public and private health services.

Her involvement in GMA began as a house officer, when she was an active member of Junior Doctors’ Association. She assumed the position of Acting Treasurer in February 2008 and since kept the Association’s finances on an even keel, ever present challenges notwithstanding.

Mary works on a Malaria project with a Non Governmental agency in the country.

Assistant General Secretary

Dr. Titus Beyuo is an alumnus of the University of Ghana Medical School. He is a Specialist Obstetrician Gynaecologist, at the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital and a media practitioner.

Dr. Titus Beyuo has leadership experience spanning several years and at different levels. He was the School Prefect/SRC President of Pope John Senior High School, the President of University of Ghana Medical Students Association, Vice President of International Federation of Medical Students Associations (IFMSA), Ghana, the Junior Doctors Chairman of Korle-Bu, and Chief Resident O&G Department, KBTH. He has served on the National Executive Council of the GMA for 2 terms as the JDA rep and he is the Greater Accra Divisional Secretary of GMA

He hopes to bring his experience in mass media practice, communication and leadership to the Association to help in effective running of the national secretariat, improved communication and branding of the association. 

General Secretary

He is a Principal Medical officer and a Product of University of Ghana Medical School. He has served the Association (GMA) diligently and with passion since joining the National Executive Council (NEC) as a Junior Doctor’s Representative and subsequently as Assistant General Secretary from 2011 till date.

He had been a very active member of the Greater Accra Division prior to this, serving as a divisional executive member in the process.

 A key vision of his in to ensure that Doctors in Ghana are given their due for all the hard work we do for the Country hence his Maximum commitment to all struggles of the Association, since becoming a member, the latest being the battles for Conditions of Service and Tier 2 pensions.

Dr. Justice Yankson Esq, is also a qualified Lawyer (Solicitor and Barrister) He graduated from University of Ghana Law Faculty and the Ghana School of Law. In addition he studied Finance (MBA) at the University of Ghana Business School from August 2011 -2013 June, and will continue to freely make his experiences from these alternate backgrounds at the disposal of the GMA.

Dr. Yankson had his secondary (‘O’ and ‘A’ level) education at St. Augustine’s College, Cape Coast. He enjoys playing and watching football. He currently works at the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital.

Vice President

Works at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital as a Paediatrician. He was the Junior Doctors leader in Komfo Anokye form 2003 – 2007. He served as the National Representative of Junior Doctors on the National Executive Council of the Ghana Medical Association in 2004 and 2006.

He was Assistance General Secretary of the Association from 2007 – 2011 and General Secretary from 2011 to date.

He is a member of board of trustee of the GMA fund and also a member of Coalition of Domestic Election Observers.

He was a member of the negotiation team for conditions of service in 2015. He served on several committees of the Association. His dedication to the course of the GMA is unquestionable.

President

DCOP/Dr. Ebenezer Ewusi-Emmim, the current President of the Ghana Medical Association (GMA) is a product of the University of Ghana Medical and Dental School, Accra. He has postgraduate training and qualifications in Paediatrics, Public Health and Business Administration.

He is the team leader of the National Executive Council and the National Executive Committee. He is the Chairman of the Strategic and Research Committee which recently came out with the first Strategic Document of the GMA. He is also the Chairman of the GMA Star Fund, the Provident Fund of the Association.

Previously as the Vice President, he chaired the Finance and General Purposes, the Constitutional and Legal and the Public Lecture Committees of the GMA. He was a member of the Committee which negotiated for the Condition of Service Document for the Association.

Dr. Ebenezer Ewusi-Emmim is a past Chairman of the Greater Accra Division of the GMA and hosted the 50thAnniversary Celebration of the Association. He earned the accolade, the “Golden Chairman” as a result.

He was the Chairman of the GMA Sponsorship Committee which secured the first sponsorship deal of the GMA. PZ Coussons Plc. as a result provides support for the Annual Public Lecture and Annual General Conference of the Association. Under his presidency, the GMA has also brokered another sponsorship deal with Wilmar Plc. to support the activities of the Association. He currently works at the Ghana Police Hospital and in charge of Clinical training of the hospital.

His vision is “Moving the GMA forward as a united front” and the higher heights on the national and international levels. This would be done by working with and through members of the GMA through effective Communication, Creativity and innovation, Strategy and Collaboration with all stakeholders using the Strategic Document of the Association.
